Dahms, Imogene Ann - age 79, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at her residence in Grand Blanc, MI. A gathering of friends and family will begin on June 3, at 10AM at Hill Funeral Home [map], Grand Blanc, with Memorial Service following at 11AM, Rev. Roger Colby officiating.
Imogene was born March 29, 1924 to Oscar and Beatrice Ristau in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Riverside High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University, with a major in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy. Imogene married Edward Ralph Dahms on October 23, 1948 in Wauwatosa, WI, where they lived and began their family. In 1969, they relocated to Grand Blanc, MI, where Imogene lived up until her death.
Imogene's career included Advertising management at retail stores T.A. Chapman Co., Klode Furniture Co., Kunzelman Esser, Smith-Bridgman's and The Fair. Imogene had been an active member of the American Association of University Women and ZONTA International, and found enriching volunteer work with the Flint Sparks and as a tutor with the Grand Blanc schools. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed the symphony and the arts, traveled extensively, and was an active member of The Granda Club and the Grand Blanc Senior Center. She will be remembered as outgoing, personable, and a close confidant to those who knew her.
Imogene leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Daphne (Deborah) Dahms of Albuquerque, NM; son Guy E. Dahms of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Maribea M. (Tim) Berry of Palo Alto, CA and grandchildren Elizabeth and Katherine Berry; sister Miriam R. (William) Moller of Milwaukee, WI; and her beloved cat Tiger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial donations may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or the charity of one's choice.
